Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based care to critically ill cardiac and post-operative CVICU patients.
- Monitor hemodynamics, manage invasive lines, titrate vasoactive medications, and assist with mechanical ventilation as needed.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including cardiac surgeons, physicians, and ancillary staff, to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document outcomes in the electronic health record, and ensure accurate and timely handoffs to the next shift.
- Respond to code events and follow ACLS protocols; implement NIH-stroke scale assessments as required.
- Uphold infection control, patient safety, and care coordination standards in a high-acuity environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH required
- CVICU experience preferred
- Ability to work a 3x12 night shift schedule (1900-0730) in a high-acuity setting
- Hours per week approximately 36–48
- Documentation requirements may include start date, RTO, date of birth, middle name, and SSN as part of onboarding
