GENERAL PURPOSE
The Community Program Specialist- Weld County is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and delivery of staff-led Girl Scout programs and supporting the implementation of the Paid Facilitator model within Weld County.
This role expands Girl Scouts of Colorado’s presence in school-based and community-based settings by delivering high-quality, culturally responsive programming and supporting school staff who serve as Paid Facilitators. The Specialist ensures strong program fidelity, positive youth experiences, and successful implementation of grant-funded objectives in Weld County communities.
This position requires a self-starter who can independently manage program delivery, recruitment partnerships, facilitator support, and administrative responsibilities within a rural and semi-rural service area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Program Development & Expansion

  • Serve as GSCO’s primary point of contact for staff-led and Paid Facilitator programs in Weld County.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners to expand access to Girl Scout programming.
  • Collaborate with the Community Connections Director to establish new school-based Paid Facilitator sites.

Staff-Led Program Delivery

  • Deliver high-quality, in-person Girl Scout programs in schools and community sites throughout Weld County.
  • Facilitate troop-style programming that aligns with Girl Scout Leadership Experience outcomes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with site contacts to ensure program continuity.

Paid Facilitator Program Support

  • Recruit and onboard school staff interested in serving as Paid Facilitators.
  • Support facilitators in understanding Girl Scout structure, curriculum, and troop management expectations.
  • Provide coaching, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical assistance to Paid Facilitators.
  • Monitor program quality and consistency across Paid Facilitator sites.
  • Ensure Paid Facilitators meet minimum participation and meeting frequency requirements.
  • Assist with tracking stipends, participation data, and grant metrics in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Support facilitator retention through relationship-building and consistent communication.

Recruitment & Membership Growth

  • Support recruitment efforts in Weld County through program-led strategies.
  • Assist in converting program participants into registered Girl Scout members where appropriate.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Membership teams to support enrollment and onboarding.

Program Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of participants, troop rosters, and program registration.
  • Ensure timely data entry and compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Support reporting needs for Fund Development related to grant outcomes.
  • Assist in tracking attendance, demographics, and participation data.

PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with Membership, Program, and Fund Development teams to meet regional goals.
  • Support the council’s commitment to pluralism, equity, and community-centered engagement.
  • Represent Girl Scouts of Colorado professionally within Weld County communities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong youth facilitation and classroom/group management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to build community partnerships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple program sites simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort working in school settings and community-based environments.
  • Ability to navigate rural and semi-rural geographic areas.
  • Evening and occasional weekend availability required.
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout program preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Must pass criminal background check.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum one year of experience working with youth in school or community settings.
  • Experience facilitating structured youth programs.
  • Experience building relationships with schools or community organizations preferred.
  • Experience supporting or supervising adult leaders or facilitators preferred.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Computer and related software, telephone, e-mail, copiers, and materials used for program facilitation.WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Dynamic schedule including travel throughout Weld County.
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift and transport program materials up to 30 pounds.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work.
