ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Safe driving, customer satisfaction, professional moving, and equipment care

CLASSIFICATION: W-2 employee or 1099 contractor (based on assignment)

COMPENSATION RANGE: $18.00 $25.00 per hour, based on experience and licensing

ANTICIPATED TRAVEL: 90% field-based, local and regional transport required

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Box Truck Driver / Moving Specialist is responsible for operating non-CDL box trucks to complete moving, hauling, and delivery assignments. This role includes loading and unloading items, ensuring the safe and professional handling of property, conducting vehicle safety inspections, and following all traffic and safety laws. The driver is expected to serve as a brand ambassador while on the road and at customer sites, providing courteous, efficient, and respectful service.

SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate 1626 ft. box trucks to complete assigned deliveries and relocations
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload furniture, equipment, and boxed items with care
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns
  • Safely navigate routes using GPS, traffic updates, and company dispatch guidance
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, team members, and customers throughout the job
  • Use hand trucks, dollies, straps, blankets, and other tools to protect cargo and facilities
  • Follow proper lifting and moving techniques to avoid injury or damage
  • Collect signatures, complete paperwork, and confirm job completion with clients
  • Adhere to safety policies, road regulations, and company procedures at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicle

UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with moving supplies inventory and organizing storage at the warehouse
  • Respond to last-minute dispatch changes or emergency service calls
  • Provide customer support and resolve minor service issues in the field
  • Report damage, loss, or delays immediately to operations staff
  • Assist with team lifting for oversized or complex items as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 75 lbs
  • Long periods of driving and standing
  • Ability to climb stairs and maneuver in tight spaces while carrying objects
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Mobile field-based work with frequent customer interaction
  • Warehouse staging, loading docks, and various delivery locations
  • Fast-paced and physically demanding

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid drivers license (CDL not required, but a plus)
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical (if applicable)
  • Prior experience in moving, delivery driving, or logistics preferred
  • Ability to operate box trucks and lift heavy items safely
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Punctual, reliable, and customer service focused

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in residential or commercial moving services
  • Knowledge of safe loading, packing, and strapping techniques
  • Familiarity with regional driving routes and delivery protocols
  • Ability to use mobile apps for dispatch, routing, and communication
