This position is located onsite in Wasco, CA, and is not eligible for remote work.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Clerk provides critical support to the accounting department by performing routine clerical, administrative, and financial tasks. This role is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining organized files, ordering office supplies, and supporting the Staff Accountants and the Accounting Supervisor with month-end and day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Included, but not limited to:

· Process accounts payable invoices related to egg processing, ensuring correct coding and timely payments.

· Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

· Enter vendor invoices and credit memos into the ERP system (e.g., Dynamics NAV).

· Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation for eggs, packaging, and raw materials.

· Prepare and maintain spreadsheets for cost tracking, batch production, and spoilage.

· Support month-end close activities, including gathering documentation and preparing reconciliations.

· Assist Staff Accountants with month-end journal entries and reconciliations.

· Assist the Accounting Supervisor with special projects and administrative tasks.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and financial files, both physical and digital.

· Create folders and keep financial records and support documentation well-organized.

· File documents regularly to ensure audit readiness and compliance.

· Order and maintain accounting office supplies.

· Communicate with vendors regarding invoice issues, missing documentation, and payment status.

· Properly complete the timecard daily and submit your completed timecard for approval on the last day worked each workweek.

· Resolve all timecard, attestation, and payroll-related matters and complete the attestation on the last day worked each workweek.

· Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance per Central Valley Eggs attendance and punctuality policy.

· Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to perform simple accounting procedures.

· Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.

· Records maintenance skills.

· Knowledge of payroll policies and procedures.

· Ability to analyze and solve problems.

· Knowledge of accounting procedures involving procurement, travel, and/or employment.

· Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.

· Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

· Account balancing skills.

· Ability to use an automated accounting system.

· Ability to prepare financial reports.

· Knowledge of invoicing procedures.

· Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and practices.

· Ability to sort through data to identify root cause and leverage for problem solving.

· Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

· Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative.

· Ability to work independently.

· High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (NAV experience is a plus).

· Ability to effectively communicate data insights to others.

· Willingness to learn and support various team members across the department.

Preferred

· Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and spoken

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

· Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

· 1–2 years of accounting, clerical, or office administration experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment.

· Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Physical Requirements:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, stand, walk, and travel away from the worksite to perform job duties. The employee is occasionally required to work in precarious places, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and/or reach above and/or below shoulders.

· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, warehouse, and processing areas, each varying in temperature, lighting brightness, and other environment-specific atmospheres.
