POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies, managing internal and external communications, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms to promote Amerijet’s corporate identity and mission. This role requires a combination of strategic vision, creativity, and strong communication skills to enhance the company’s brand identity, reputation, and employee engagement. You will work closely with senior leadership, HR, Commercial teams, and external partners to deliver campaigns that align with organizational goals and strengthen relationships with stakeholders, clients, and the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
Marketing & Communications Strategy and Planning
- Develop and execute multi-channel marketing and communications strategies that align with organizational objectives and drives understanding of and commitment to company-wide initiatives and priorities.
- Partner with senior leadership to craft messaging frameworks that reflect organizational priorities, business goals, and external trends.
- Drive awareness, demand generation, and customer acquisition through targeted campaigns.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to continuously optimize marketing efforts.
- Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement in marketing and communications efforts.
- Own and steward the brand identity, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and visual presentation across all platforms and materials.
Internal Communications:
- Drafts, reviews, edits, and distributes content for company messages, including but not limited to emails, print, videos, internal intranet postings, employee newsletters, presentations, and other communication channels.
- Manage and maintain the company’s intranet in SharePoint, ensuring content is timely, engaging, and relevant.
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of monthly manager meetings, including preparing presentation materials, agendas, and post-meeting follow-up communications.
- Partner with HR, leadership, and other departments to promote employee engagement initiatives, programs, and events.
- Proactively identify communication opportunities and develop creative solutions to effectively reach and engage employees.
External Communications & Social Media:
- Create and execute content for external audiences, including press releases, features, digital content, marketing materials, and collateral for events and tradeshows.
- Manage and update website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards; collaborate with web developers or vendors as needed.
- Develop and manage social media content calendars and content. Create visually engaging posts and monitor engagement across all platforms.
- Ensure all messaging aligns with the company’s brand voice, visual identity, and strategic goals.
- Build and manage strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, thought leaders, and industry influencers.
- Develop proactive media strategies and reactive/crisis communications protocols.
- Write and edit press releases, op-eds, and executive communications; serve as a media spokesperson as needed.
Events, Tradeshows & Conferences
- Plan and oversee the organization’s participation in conferences, tradeshows, and community events
- Coordinate all aspects of event marketing — pre-event promotion, booth design, speaking opportunities, collateral, and post-event follow-up.
- Evaluate new event and sponsorship opportunities to expand reach and industry presence.
- Identify and secure opportunities for executives to participate in high-profile speaking engagements, interviews, podcasts, panels, and bylined articles.
- Draft speeches, remarks, op-eds, and bios for leadership across events and media.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the airline/transportation/logistics industry.
- Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
- Experience managing corporate communications, media relations, and brand strategy.
- Experience managing social media
- Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Strong project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Expertise in marketing tools, platforms, and software (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM tools, social media platforms).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a focus on results.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of media relations and public relations best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graphic Design skills and/or proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools.
- Experience with brand strategy and positioning.
- Proficiency in marketing automation and content management systems.
- Familiarity with SEO, SEM, and paid advertising strategies.
- Previous experience in crisis communication and reputation management
Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.
Must be able to work well under pressure. Domestic/International travel and overtime are required when necessary.
