Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum, preferably at the junior high or high school level
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Flexible, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Create structured, positive, and engaging classroom environments tailored to students’ needs
- Utilize effective behavioral management strategies for students with autism
- Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to promote a collaborative approach
- Regularly track progress and prepare reports in compliance with school and district guidelines
- Communicate openly with parents or guardians to keep them informed and involved
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
