Overview:
We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our VP of Finance. Accounting Specialist responsibilities include entering financial transactions into accounting database, customer invoicing, customer collections, financial reporting, and reconciliation. The position will work approximately 15-30 hours per week in-office with agreed upon flexibility in scheduling the days and times.
Job Duties:
Assists in day-to-day operation and maintenance of financial records and the general ledger, including customer invoicing, credit, and collection functions, vendor bills and bill payments, and employee expense reporting.
Prepare recurring month end journal entries. Assist in month end close and general ledger account reconciliation.
Assists in preparation of monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
Assists with tax and compliance reporting activities.
Special projects and other duties, as necessary.
Experience:
- Associate degree preferred.
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
Skills and Other Qualifications:
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competency in MS Office 365 and NetSuite.
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle deadlines and fluctuating work volumes.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to use problem solving skills and develop solutions for issues.
- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
