We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Auditing Clerk to oversee the coordination of audits and ensure the smooth filing of extensive tax returns for our client in New Orleans, Louisiana. In this position, you will serve as the primary liaison during audits, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all aspects of your work. This short-term contract to full time role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex processes effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and oversee the audit process in collaboration with multiple audit firms, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared, reviewed, and submitted on time.
• Represent the organization during audits, advocating for appropriate practices and ensuring compliance with requirements.
• Develop and maintain detailed checklists to manage workflows and ensure successful filing of over 150 tax returns.
• Compile, organize, and finalize documents for submission, including obtaining required signatures.
• Gather and analyze data to respond to auditor inquiries and facilitate accurate responses.
• Implement structured workflows and processes to streamline audit and tax filing operations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain clear communication and resolve issues promptly.
• Utilize project management tools and techniques to track progress and ensure quality assurance.
• Address high-pressure situations with professionalism and maintain focus on organizational goals.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with financial documents.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication abilities to manage relationships with auditors and team members.
• Proven expertise in time management and meeting strict deadlines.
• Self-motivated approach to solving problems and managing tasks independently.
• Experience creating and maintaining structured workflows and processes.
