Job Title: Claims & Subrogation Support Supervisor

Location: Itasca, IL (Hybrid-3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000 (Based on experience and qualifications)

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Claims & Subrogation Support Supervisor with our client in the transportation and logistics industry. This position will lead the Claims and Subrogation Support team and is responsible for overseeing the processing of cargo claims and recovery efforts to ensure timely resolution, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. Our client is a well-established organization within the logistics space and is seeking a strong leader with claims expertise and a passion for continuous improvement. The Claims & Subrogation Support Supervisor will oversee daily operations of the claims team, support complex freight and cargo claims, and drive subrogation recovery efforts. The ideal candidate would be available to interview and start shortly after.

Claims & Subrogation Support Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee daily operations of the Claims team, ensuring efficient workflows, timely claim resolution, and consistent performance across direct reports.
  • Direct and validate investigations, documentation, and adjudication of freight claims involving loss, damage, and delay in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive subrogation recovery efforts to maximize reimbursement from carriers, insurers, and responsible third parties while maintaining detailed documentation.
  • Provide guidance and escalation support for complex claims, including those involving international freight and cross-border liability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports on claim volumes, recovery rates, cycle times, and team productivity to support data-driven process improvements.
  • Develop, mentor, and support team members while fostering a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Insurance, and Operations teams to ensure alignment with contractual obligations, compliance standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned while complying with all company policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of claims experience, preferably within cargo or freight claims.
  • Experience handling international freight claims or cargo claims.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1+ year of experience managing or indirectly leading staff, including escalation support.
