AppleTree Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Indianapolis to add experienced Mill/Lathe Operators to their team! This is a full-time, Direct-Hire positionoffering long-term stability, growth potential, and a strong team-oriented environment.

Position Overview:
The Manual Machinist will be responsible for performing high-quality machining work with precision and minimal supervision. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to meet production standards and technical specifications.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform high-quality manual machining operations according to technical specifications and production requirements
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Set up and operate manual lathes and mills, including:

- Indicating vises and workpieces
- Setting machine heads and sweeping tables
- Changing chucks on lathes
- Measure and inspect parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and comparators
- Maintain close attention to detail to ensure parts meet tight tolerances
- Follow all safety policies and quality procedures
- Collaborate with team members to support production goals
- Complete additional machining or shop-related duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–5 years of hands-on manual machining experience
- Strong understanding of machining operations and machine tools
- Above-average math skills related to machining and measurements
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent quality
