Pride Health is hiring a Medical Coder to support our client’s medical facility based in Hartford, CT. This contract opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

*POSSIBILITY OF TEMP TO HIRE*
- Location: Hartford, CT - 06102
- Job Type: Contract
- Duration: 13 weeks then will be evaluated the possibility of transitioning to perm
- Schedule: 8 am - 4:30 pm / Start time anywhere between 7 am - 8:30 am
- Pay Range: $27.00 - $30.00 / hour
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
Requirements:
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) – required
- 2 – 3 years of progressive on-the-job experience in INPATIENT or ACUTE CARE settings – required
- Associate’s Degree – required
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM diagnostic and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes, DRG assignment, and inpatient coding guidelines. – required
- Proficiency in using coding software, including Computer Assisted Coding (CAC), encoders, and reference materials for accurate code assignment. – required
Responsibilities:
- Review inpatient clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRGs for compliance and reimbursement.
- Code complex cases, including interventional radiology, cardiovascular surgeries, major transplants, and level 1 trauma.
- Ensure adherence to coding policies, ethical standards, and revenue cycle KPIs while resolving coding-related issues.
- Collaborate with clinical documentation specialists, physicians, and other departments to clarify documentation and optimize coding accuracy.
