A full-time Pharmacy Supervisor position is available in an animal health compounding pharmacy. This onsite role is located in Bakersfield, CA, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:15 AM to 5:15 PM.
The Pharmacy Supervisor will lead a team of pharmacists in producing exceptional compounded preparations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering continuous improvement within the compounding pharmacy. This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining quality and productivity, and collaborating with pharmacy leadership and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of pharmacists to meet productivity and quality goals
- Oversee daily compounding operations and workflow in the pharmacy lab
- Ensure compliance with USP, State Board regulations, and 503A compounding standards
- Maintain accurate training documentation and adherence to compounding procedures
- Assist in drug selection for dispensing and compounded preparations
- Identify process and formulation improvements for efficiency and quality
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional teams as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies and federal/state regulations
Qualifications:
- Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school
- Minimum 2 years managing staff within a pharmacy lab setting
- 2 to 5 years of compounding experience, preferably in 503A compounding
- In-depth knowledge of USP guidelines, State Board regulations, and compounding standards
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
This direct hire opportunity offers a competitive base salary between $160,000 and $185,000 plus bonus potential, with eligibility for benefits.
