Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a certified Special Education teacher to provide support in an elementary school setting in the Cambridge, MA area. This contract position offers a balanced role involving both inclusion support and pull-out instruction for students with special needs.
Location: Cambridge, MA (contract position)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to elementary students with special needs.
- Provide inclusion support within the general education classroom as well as pull-out sessions.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an effective learning environment.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Massachusetts certification in Special Education required.
- Previous experience working with elementary grade students preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administration.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 6.5 hour school day, totaling 32.5 hours per week
- Contract duration: Immediate start through June 16, 2026
