Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
Performs a variety of neurological and cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures and special procedures or duties as assigned. May be assigned orientation and in-service education responsibilities. Carries out assigned duties and responsibilities according to policies and procedures approved by the Medical Director for Cardiopulmonary. Performs a variety of cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures as assigned.
This role involves close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and technical teams to ensure tests are accurate, timely, and medically necessary. Candidates should be patient-focused, organized, and committed to clinical excellence. The role includes maintaining high standards of care, ensuring equipment functionality, and supporting patients through diagnostic testing.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
-
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG T.) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist (ABRET) – Preferred

Graduate of an approved Electroneurodiagnostic Program or AMA-approved Respiratory Care Program or a minimum of two years of EEG clinical experience – Preferred

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist by the National Board of Cardiovascular Technology – Preferred or one year experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required within 60 days of hire
Essential Functions:

Reviews existing clinical data and gathers additional relevant data as needed.

Evaluates all data to confirm appropriateness and medical necessity of the test ordered.

Prepares, calibrates, and checks equipment for diagnostic procedures.

Initiates and conducts diagnostic testing according to physician’s orders and modifies procedures as necessary.

Maintains accurate, up-to-date patient records and logs.

Shares relevant test results and clinical insights with healthcare team members.

Supports departmental goals by mentoring trainees, new staff, and medical personnel.

Participates in ongoing learning and assists with education during staff meetings and in-service training sessions.

Promotes and delivers age-appropriate and culturally sensitive care to patients.

Adheres to all infection control and safety policies while working with patients and equipment.
Must-Haves:

R.EEG T. certification by ABRET – Preferred

Graduate of an approved Electroneurodiagnostic Program, AMA Respiratory Care Program, or at least two years of EEG experience – Preferred

RDCS certification by ARDMS or Cardiovascular Technologist certification by NBCT – Preferred or one year experience
