Unified Fire Authority is currently recruiting for Part-Time EMS EMT/AEMT and Paramedic Ambulance Technicians.
These Part-Time EMT/AEMT (Non-Firefighting) positions are paid on an hourly basis. Part-time EMTs and AEMTs are staffed on ambulances housed at select fire stations within our service area.
- Interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Valid Utah State Driver's License
- Minimum of Utah State EMT/AEMT or Paramedic License (Licensure must be in good standing and current with Utah BEMSP)
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR provider card (or equivalent and listed as approved by Utah BEMSP)
- If AEMT: Current American Heart Association ACLS and PALS Certifications (PEPP is not sufficient)
- Paramedic- Current ACLS/ PALS required.
- Be available for a minimum of 48 hours each month. Shifts are 12-hour periods from 0900-2100 and from 0700-0700 for 24-hour shifts.
Part-time EMS positions are expected to meet high-performance standards in a public service role. In addition to emergency response, these positions provide medical stand-by needs at various large gathering events year-round and valley-wide. This job can be physically strenuous, requiring members to lift heavier objects up and down flights of stairs.
To be considered for the position, you must successfully pass an EMS skills evaluation. A member of the Staffing Office will contact you to schedule your skills evaluation and interview.
We will be holding EMS Skills Evaluations on October 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2025. Applicants who successfully pass the skills assessment will be invited to an interview scheduled for Oct 14th through the 16th, 2025.
The skills evaluation will be completed similarly to the state licensing practical examinations. Additionally, a physical agility component will be incorporated into the skills evaluation. After a thorough review of applications and resumes, specific information regarding the skills evaluation will be provided to those invited to move forward in the process.
More information will be provided to selected candidates regarding the hiring timeline. To be fully considered, you must be available for the following dates with no exceptions:
Orientation Meeting October 22nd, 2025. This virtual meeting will be held in the evening and last up to 2 hours. This is not a paid event but is required to be considered for final employment.
