Job Title: Closing Manager
Location: Grocery Outlet Bargain Market
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (as applicable)
Reports To: Owners
Pay Rate: $13.00 – $14.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary:
As a Closing Manager at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, you will be responsible for overseeing all store operations during evening shifts, ensuring a clean, safe, and customer-friendly environment while maintaining store standards and driving sales. You’ll play a key leadership role in supervising closing procedures, managing evening staff, and securing the store at the end of the day.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Store Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations during evening hours.
- Ensure all departments (grocery, produce, refrigerated, etc.) are clean, stocked, and merchandised properly before close.
- Monitor and manage store appearance to reflect brand standards.
2. Staff Supervision:
- Lead and motivate team members on evening shifts.
- Assign tasks, ensure productivity, and provide support as needed.
- Address employee concerns and escalate issues to owners when necessary.
3. Customer Service:
- Ensure excellent customer service is provided throughout the store.
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer issues during closing hours.
4. Closing Procedures:
- Perform nightly closing tasks including:
- Final cash register reconciliation and deposits.
- Locking doors, setting alarms, and securing the building.
- Ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Complete closing checklists and report any issues or incidents.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce health, safety, and loss prevention policies.
- Ensure all team members adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Conduct routine checks of refrigeration units and security systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years of supervisory or retail experience (grocery experience a plus) preferred.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment.
