Job DescriptionDescription:

The Financial Analyst will provide comprehensive program financial management and analysis in support of government contracts. This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in program financial analysis and a working knowledge of Government accounting and financial systems, including but not limited to Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), Comptroller Financial Information System (CFIS), Commanders’ Resource Information System (CRIS), FMSuites, and Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS). The role demands expertise in appropriations, stages of accounting, and accounting principles, with the ability to analyze financial transactions, reconcile discrepancies, recommend process improvements, substantiate financial data, and maintain accounting controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, be detail-oriented, and be adept at supporting both program teams and senior leadership with accurate financial insights. This position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform program financial analysis, tracking budgets, obligations, and expenditures against contract requirements.
  • Utilize Government accounting and financial systems (WAWF, CFIS, CRIS, FMSuites, DEAMS, Government-approved Accounting System) to process, monitor, and reconcile transactions.
  • Interpret and apply appropriations law, stages of accounting, and federal financial regulations.
  • Analyze and reconcile financial discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files.
  • Develop financial forecasts, burn rate analyses, and variance reports to support program and organizational decision-making.
  • Monitor funding levels, contract modifications, and changes impacting program financials.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Recommend improvements to financial processes and controls to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with program managers, contracting officers, and other stakeholders to resolve financial issues and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in Government financial systems, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in program financial analysis in a federal contracting or DoD environment.
  • Experience with multiple Government financial systems (WAWF, CFIS, CRIS, FMSuites, DEAMS, Government-approved Accounting System).
  • Familiarity with appropriations, stages of accounting, and applicable accounting principles.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of federal financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in developing and managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Problem-solving and process improvement skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS 365 applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP and contract management systems.
  • Able to work on-site at Patrick SFB.

Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday – Friday, eight hours per day; flexibility required to meet client and project deadlines.

Work Environment: On-site at a secure Government facility (Patrick SFB) in a professional office setting with moderate noise. Short outdoor transits between facilities may occur in typical Florida heat/humidity; occasional travel and extended hours may be required during reviews or deadlines. Some work areas may require escorting and/or specific badging.
