Overview:
We are currently hiring Entry Level Drafters/Designers for long term, multi year contracts in Newport News, VA.
Description:
- This position will support design initiatives for Virginia Class model file conversions.
- The candidate will convert 3D models into the Siemens NX application including setting up construction views. All trade disciplines will be involved in this effort.
- Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as AutoCAD, NX, and Inventor.
- Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
- Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Qualifications:
- US Citizenship.
- Associate’s Degree and 0 years of experience. (2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate’s degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate’s degree.)
- Siemens NX and/or Inventor modeling experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing/installation drawing creation.
- Trade experience using 3D work instructions in areas such as: Structure, Electrical, Piping, Mechanical, Ventilation, Sheetmetal.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Pay Rate: $22-$30/hr based on experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
