About the Role:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (CPTA) in the Health Care Services industry, your primary responsibility will be to assist licensed physical therapists in providing treatment to patients. You will work closely with patients to help them regain mobility, reduce pain, and improve their overall physical function. Your role will be crucial in helping patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or other physical conditions. By providing hands-on therapy, monitoring patient progress, and implementing treatment plans, you will contribute to the overall well-being and rehabilitation of individuals in need of physical therapy services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid License issued by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in evaluating and assessing patients' physical conditions and needs.
  • Implement treatment plans under the guidance and supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises, stretches, and manual techniques.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for at-home exercises and self-care.

Skills:

In this role, you will utilize your strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy techniques to provide hands-on therapy to patients. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in effectively collaborating with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. You will also need to have the ability to work effectively in a team, as you will be working closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans. Additionally, your attention to detail and documentation skills will be important in monitoring and documenting patient progress. Finally, your ability to educate and instruct patients on proper techniques for at-home exercises and self-care will contribute to their overall recovery and well-being.
