Unit: 4 Pavilion – Telemetry\nBeds: 32\nRatios: 1:6\n\nShift Options:\n• 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM\n• 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM\n• Weekend: Every other, rotation (weekends 1 & 3 or 2 & 4)\n• Holidays: Rotational with core staff; preferences considered\n• Block Scheduling: Allowed if unit needs are met\n\nRequired Certifications: BLS, ACLS\n\nPatient Population:\n• Adult & geriatric\n• Cardiopulmonary diagnoses: CHF, chest pain, post-cardiac cath (mostly femoral, some radial)\n• Experience preferred: Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Drips; chemo experience preferred\n\nDrip/Titration Responsibilities:\n• RNs titrate drips: Yes\n• Common drips: Nitro (chest pain only), Amiodarone, Lasix, Heparin, Dopamine (low dose renal perfusion only)\n\nStaffing & Roles:\n• Monitor techs 24/7; RNs review strips each shift\n• Charge nurse may have modified assignment or serve as traveler precepted if willing\n• House supervisor available 24/7\n• Nurse aides: 7A–7P (1:10), 7P–7A (1:15)\n\nEquipment: IV pumps, sequential compression devices, pulse oximeters, specialty beds, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen\n\nFloating Requirements:\n• May float to 3P/5P Med-Surg or Emergency Department for boarded patients as needed\n\nDress Code:\n• RNs/LPNs: Navy scrubs\n• CNAs/Monitor Techs: Dark Grey/Pewter\n• Solid color only, no embroidery/patterns; WVU Medicine or solid fleece allowed in grey, black, navy, royal blue\n• Solid undershirts: white, grey, black matching scrub top\n• Closed-toed shoes only; no crocs\n\nOrientation:\n• First day: General hospital orientation\n• Full nursing orientation (RNs/LPNs)\n• Computer training: ½ day for CNAs, full day for nurses\n• Two 12-hour preceptor shifts\n• Abbreviated Initial Skills Checklist due 90 days from start
