Insurance Customer Service Representative

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Insurance Customer Service Representative. This role is a unique opportunity for an ambitious person to build a career in the insurance industry. In this position, you will provide exceptional support to our clients while receiving comprehensive training and support to earn your Property & Casualty (P&C) license. This role offers a clear path to advance into a licensed Insurance Agent, where you can earn commission on new business and renewals.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding policies, coverage, and billing.
  • Assist in resolving client complaints and issues with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
  • Process policy endorsements, changes, and renewals, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain and update client records in our agency management software (AMS 360 or similar).
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support new business efforts and renewal processes.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell or upsell additional products to existing clients.
  • Follow standard procedures for receiving, storing, and maintaining client records.

  • Licensing Support: We will provide paid training and study materials to help you prepare for the state-required Property & Casualty (P&C) licensing exam.
  • Mentorship: You will be mentored by experienced agents who will guide you in understanding insurance products, sales techniques, and client relationship management.
  • Advancement: Upon successfully obtaining your P&C license, you will have the opportunity to transition into a licensed agent role. In this new capacity, you will be able to earn a commission on new policies you sell, in addition to your base salary.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Office experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, creative problem-solving skills, and an eagerness to learn.
  • Prior experience in a customer service or office environment is a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other basic computer software.

Preferred:

  • Property and Casualty or other insurance experience.
  • AMS 360

Job Type: Full-time, In-office, Monday - Friday 9 - 5:30 PM

Salary: Competitive hourly wage with a path to a commission-based structure upon becoming a licensed agent.
