Job Title: Asbestos Abatement Foreman / Asbestos Supervisor
Job Description
This role oversees and works hands-on on asbestos abatement projects in compliance with all applicable government and regulatory requirements. The Asbestos Abatement Foreman/Supervisor leads crews from initial containment through final clearance, ensuring safe, efficient, and fully compliant removal activities across residential and commercial job sites.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and participate in asbestos abatement projects from initial containment setup through final clearance.
- Ensure all work complies with government regulations, EPA regulations, and other applicable regulatory agency requirements.
- Lead, direct, and motivate field crews to complete projects safely, on time, and to quality standards.
- Review and interpret blueprints and project documentation to plan and execute abatement activities.
- Set up and maintain proper containment, decontamination units, and negative air systems according to regulatory standards.
- Oversee safe asbestos removal procedures, including handling, packaging, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials.
- Use appropriate hand tools and construction equipment to perform and guide abatement tasks.
- Monitor job site safety, enforce OSHA and company safety policies, and participate in safety meetings as required.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure work progresses according to schedule and scope.
- Complete required documentation, logs, and reports related to asbestos abatement activities and regulatory compliance.
- Travel locally within the assigned region to multiple job sites, and occasionally travel out of state as needed.
- Support training and mentoring of less experienced crew members in proper abatement techniques and safety practices.
- Perform heavy lifting and general labor tasks as required to support project completion.
Essential Skills
- 2–3 years of experience as an asbestos foreman or asbestos supervisor.
- Active Asbestos Supervisor Certification (or recently expired within a reasonable timeframe) such as AHERA 40-hour Supervisor certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Demonstrated experience executing asbestos abatement projects from initial containment to final clearance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and direct field crews.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and project plans.
- Knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures and regulatory requirements, including EPA regulations.
- Experience in construction or related field work.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and general labor in a construction environment.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally within the assigned region and occasionally out of state.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Construction field experience or additional experience in related work such as lead abatement, restoration, or industrial cleaning.
- Hazwoper 40 certification is a plus.
- Lead abatement certifications are a plus.
- Prior asbestos inspection experience is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction to crew members.
- Solid reading and comprehension skills for understanding regulations, procedures, and project documentation.
- Ability to work independently and travel to job sites on your own, especially as a new hire.
- Flexibility to join rotations using company vehicles as tenure increases.

Work Environment

The work environment is highly regulated, with strict adherence to safety standards, OSHA requirements, and EPA regulations, and requires consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
