As a Manufacturing Technician, you will support all aspects of the thin film manufacturing process, including coating, metrology, fabrication, parts cleaning and assembly, incoming and final inspection, data interpretation, and data entry. This role requires a commitment to safety, quality, and accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement and respect for the company's mission. You will work collaboratively across all operations and manufacturing departments, handling fragile products and parts with precision.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of the thin film manufacturing process.
- Work as a team player supporting all shift work activities.
- Handle products and parts ranging in size from 1 millimeter to 450 millimeters, weighing less than 1 gram to 25 kilograms.
- Maintain housekeeping, sanitation, and GMP requirements.
- Perform product and machine inspection.
- Analyze data and report abnormalities to the appropriate person or department.
- Assemble fixtures, parts, and tooling; calibrate tools and machines.
- Clean products, parts, tooling, machines, and work areas.
- Adhere to company quality, environmental, sustainability, and safety policies.
- Use Microsoft Suite and other manufacturing programs.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance and timeliness.
Essential Skills
- Experience in thin film manufacturing or any manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical or scientific aptitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Some college education in STEM disciplines; preferred in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering, or physics.
- Self-starter who works well alone with limited supervision.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting, and executing detailed instructions.
- Familiar with quality, environmental, and safety programs such as ISO 9001 and CAL OSHA.
- Familiar with lean manufacturing methods and tools.
- Experienced and certified forklift driver.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and comfort with machinery.
- Basic math skills, including understanding geometric concepts.
- Team-oriented with a drive to meet goals and improve processes.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Work Environment
The work environment is within a manufacturing setting with moderate temperature and noise levels. You will handle delicate optical components and precision tools while adhering to safety and contamination control protocols. The role requires physical activity such as standing, reaching, and kneeling for extended periods, and involves working with solvents, cleaning agents, lasers, and high-temperature equipment. Employees must occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 35 pounds and adhere to safety standards, including wearing protective gear when necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Rosa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
