A vibrant Providence-based organization seeks a passionate and dedicated Non-Profit Assistant Director to lead impactful youth development and juvenile justice programs. This leadership role provides the opportunity to oversee meaningful initiatives, cultivate strong community partnerships, and significantly impact at-risk youth. A commitment to social equity and preventing involvement in the justice system is crucial.
Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $47,000 - $52,000 annually (full-time, 40 hours/week).

Responsibilities of the Non-Profit Assistant Director:

  • Manage and expand youth empowerment and juvenile justice programs, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and funding requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, interns, and volunteers, promoting professional growth.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with schools, community organizations, and justice system stakeholders to improve diversion programs.
  • Lead outreach, youth recruitment, and DEI training efforts.
  • Advocate for youth initiatives and represent the organization in community networks and policy discussions.
  • Manage program budgets, ensure grant compliance, and handle funding administration; support grant writing, reporting, and fundraising activities.
  • Assist executive leadership in strategic planning, financial management, and human resources (including hiring and team development).
  • Lead mentorship, leadership development, and restorative justice programs.


Qualifications of the Non-Profit Assistant Director:

  • Minimum of three years' experience managing youth programs, juvenile justice initiatives, or nonprofit projects.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven experience in budget management, grant writing, and program evaluation.
  • Strong commitment to social justice, youth empowerment, and racial equity.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
