Process Technician – Plastics Manufacturing (3rd Shift)
Location: Noblesville / Fishers, IN area
Shift: 3rd Shift | 10:45 PM – 7:00 AM
Pay: Up to $32/hr (can test slightly higher) + $1/hr shift differential
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (average 45–50 hrs/week)
Benefits: Available after 90 days
Status: Full-time, Direct Hire
Position Overview
A growing, well-established manufacturing operation is seeking a Process Technician to support plastic injection molding and extrusion processes in a clean, climate-controlled facility. This is a hands-on, floor-based role focused on machine setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and process support to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality production.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, calm under pressure, and comfortable working closely with operators, maintenance, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust parameters on injection molding and extrusion equipment
- Perform mold and extrusion changeovers
- Verify processes are running within validated and approved specifications
- Confirm machine setups at the start of each shift
- Support operators and leadership with process-related issues
- Troubleshoot routine process and equipment issues
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance
- Maintain clean machines, tooling, and work areas
- Document setups, parameters, and tooling used
- Ensure production schedules are met
- Follow all SOPs, safety, and quality standards
- Assist with continuous improvement and process-related projects
- Work overtime as needed to meet production demand
Authority & Decision-Making
- Stop production when quality requirements cannot be met
- Make process adjustments within validated limits
- Change tooling during changeovers or to resolve issues
- Escalate issues to maintenance, tooling, engineering, or leadership when needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial materials
- Clean, climate-controlled production areas
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the shift
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or trade education preferred
- 3–5+ years of plastics manufacturing experience (injection molding and/or extrusion preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable in a hands-on, production-focused role
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Entry-Level / Apprentice Considered
- No prior experience required
- Training provided for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and interest in plastics manufacturing
