Our organization is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to become part of the esteemed Moontower Midwifery practice. This facility is operated by Certified Nurse Midwives and embodies a genuine midwifery approach. Join a dedicated team that emphasizes a collaborative method to patient care, ensuring that every individual experience in our office is personalized and significant.

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will engage closely with both gynecological and obstetric patients, supporting childbirth and delivering healthcare services to women after pregnancy. Responsibilities include assisting with prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum support, as well as offering reproductive health services, treatment, and education to female patients.

Position Highlights

  • This role is perfect for a seasoned CNM seeking a leadership opportunity.
  • The practice consists of a team of five certified nurse midwives and one OB/GYN physician.
  • Work 2-3 days per week in the clinic, with an average daily patient load of 16-18.
  • Enjoy a balanced on-call schedule with seven 24-hour shifts over a five-week period, including one Saturday and one Sunday; you will have a day off following your call.
  • Each CNM typically handles around 10 deliveries monthly.
  • On-call duties can be performed from home if the CNM resides within 30 minutes of the hospital (St. David's North Austin Medical Center).
  • Opportunity to develop your own patient clinic practice within the group.
  • This is the first midwifery practice of its kind in the Austin metropolitan area, featuring a collaborative and innovative practice model.

Requirements

  • AMCB Certified Nurse Midwife.
  • Graduate of a nurse-midwifery program accredited by the ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME).
  • Master's degree in nursing (MS/MSN).
  • Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license.
  • CPR and NALS certification.
  • Current unrestricted DEA license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Leadership experience in a CNM role is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of two years of full-time experience as a CNM is preferred.
  • Experience in labor and delivery is advantageous.
