Shift Notes

12x3 – Potential to be scheduled 3 out of 4 weekends. -Ability to be overstaffed three 12 hour shifts per 13 week contract, with call back. -Willing to float to med/surg department.

L&D 2 years exp required

Required Qualifications:

1. Current RN license in the State of Minnesota
2. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
3. Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
4. Minimum of one year (full-time equivalent) LDRP experience
5. Completion of a Fetal Heart Monitoring course (preferred)
6. One year of Med-Surg experience

Unit Overview:

• Schedule: Rotating days/nights with weekday/weekend rotation.
• Birth Volume: Approximately 25–33 births per month.
• Facility:
  • 6 Birthing Suites
  • 4 Postpartum/Surgical Rooms
  • Total of 10 patient rooms
• Providers:
  • 3 OB/GYN Physicians
  • 4 Family Practice MDs performing deliveries
• Staffing:
  • 1 RN assigned to up to 2 moms and babies (occasionally 3)
  • 1 RN per laboring patient
• Lactation Support: Consultant available 3 days per week
• C-Sections: RNs do not circulate; assistance is limited to baby care only
• Patient Population: Low incidence of high-risk births; most are transferred to Duluth when possible
