Job Description

The Senior Company Accountant is a newly created position at Swick Drilling. Based in our new office in Salt Lake City, the position offers the opportunity to work in all aspects of the financial running of a global company.

Reporting directly to the Regional Business Manager, North America, the role will be a mix of day to day accounting tasks e.g. invoice entry, bank reconciliations, etc, as well as drawing on your technical accounting skills for budget setting, balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statement reviews. Thus, creating a fully rounded accounting and finance opportunity for the right candidate.

Swick is a growing business in North America with solid operations in the US and recent expansion into Canada. We are also part of a larger group of companies (Perenti Group) with offices across the world.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of Post Qualification accounting experience.

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.

• Experience reconciling balance sheets and reviewing Profit and Loss statements.

Welcomed Qualifications & Experience:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.

• Understanding of Federal and State taxes particularly in Nevada, California and Alaska.

• Experience processing payroll.

• Experience managing cash flow.

• Have managed a small team (1+ employees).

Some of the responsibilities you may expect in this position include:

• Ensure the financial reports are compliant with GAAP and regulatory standards.

• Prepare the cash flow forecast to assist in the management of cash flow.

• Assist with auditor and tax accountants with their requests for financial information.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting to support the companies goals.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.

• Implement financial controls and improve accounting processes.

• Enter invoices into the accounting software and pay in a timely manner.

• Run fortnightly payroll for approx. 100 employees in the USA and 15 in Canada.

• Complete bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, accrual journals and other accounting entries as required.
