About This Role
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join our educational community for the 2026-27 school year. As a key player in building our infant program, the ideal candidate will be committed to creating a stimulating environment where children can thrive. This role requires a teacher who can effectively coordinate curriculum, manage daily operations, and collaborate closely with the teaching team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and be skilled in communicating with both children and adults to meet the needs of the children and foster lasting relationships with parents/guardians.
- This is a full-time school year position, running from late August to mid-June.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement educational curriculum by creating engaging classroom activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a growth mindset and coaching the teaching team to achieve success.
- Design age-appropriate activities that encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth, ensuring children are actively engaged and motivated.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Ensure the center's policies and state regulations are consistently met.
- Establish a healthy and safe classroom environment, adhering to high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, forms, and files.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to maintain a high level of quality and excellence.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional child care experience.
- High energy and a positive attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer proficiency.
- Able to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents to foster a positive team environment.
- Strong understanding of child development principles.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Must pass a thorough background check and a health screening.
- Pyramid Model knowledge is a valuable asset.

About Us
The Village School is a registered 501c3 nonprofit offering early preschool and preschool education for children ages 2-5 years. We are located in the town of Walpole and have been an active part of the community since our incorporation in 1974. In any given year, we serve an average of 25 students from Walpole but also from neighboring towns including Westmoreland, Alstead, and Charlestown. We work closely with the community, parents, teachers and board of directors to provide a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for children to learn and socialize, guiding them to make kind, respectful choices in their school community. Walpole Village School has been awarded a step in the Granite Steps of Quality by NH DHHS. This is a voluntary quality recognition system.
