A New York City-based health services organization is seeking a new Certified Medical Coder to join its growing team.
About the Opportunity:
<ul>
<li>Schedule: Monday to Friday</li>
<li>Hours: 8am to 4pm (1-hour break)</li>
<li>Setting: Remote (after initial training, usually two weeks)</li>
</ul>
Responsibilities:
Collaborating with Clinical Documentation Specialists, the Certified Medical Coder will be responsible for medical coding in an acute care setting
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>3+ years of experience</li>
<li>High School Diploma/GED</li>
<li>Experience with EPIC and 3M software</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of ICD10</li>
<li>Proficiency in computer skills (MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, Encoder)</li>
<li>Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, and federal billing guidelines</li>
</ul>
Desired Skills:
<ul>
<li>Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree</li>
<li>Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Professional (CCP) from AHIMA, RHIA, or RHIT</li>
<li>Experience with Coding applications</li>
<li>Solid understanding of Anatomy, Physiology &amp; Disease processes</li>
