Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support surgical teams in a dynamic operating room environment located in Brewer, ME. This contract role requires certified surgical technologists dedicated to patient safety and procedural efficiency during invasive surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and check surgical supplies and equipment needed for procedures
- Assist in scrubbing, gowning, and gloving self, surgeons, and assistants
- Perform instrument counts before and after procedures with the circulator
- Maintain sterile fields by assisting with draping and passing instruments to the surgeon
- Ensure highest standards of sterile technique throughout surgeries
- Clean and prepare instruments and the surgical suite between cases
- Support training and mentoring of new employees and students in the surgical technologist role
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Trade or technical school certificate or diploma in surgical technology
- At least one year of prior surgical technologist experience preferred
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile technique
- Ability to work collaboratively within the surgical team
