Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to serve as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager within a high school setting located in Williamsburg, VA. The role involves managing a caseload of 7-8 students, providing individualized education plans and support to meet each student's unique learning needs. The contract runs from ASAP through June 5, 2025, with a standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week over 5 days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for assigned students.
- Coordinate with families, teachers, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
- Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and adjust educational strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and school policies.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities focused on special education.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia Special Education Teaching License.
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher or Case Manager preferred.
- Endorsements or additional certifications in special education are considered a plus.
