Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited AAS or AMA-certified Radiation Therapy program.
- Current RRT license with three to five years of relevant experience.
- Active New York State licensure.
- Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation therapy treatments in compliance with physician prescriptions and the National Cancer Institute regulations.
- Expertly operate and maintain advanced high-voltage radiation therapy equipment, including Co-60 units, Linear Accelerators, and Simulators.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and prepare radiographic films to confirm treatment areas.
- Perform pretreatment functions, such as tumor localization and collecting necessary physical treatment factors.
- Maintain rigorous safety standards to protect patients, recognize radiation reactions, and provide appropriate care and instructions.
- Ensure all treatments are accurately documented and regulatory policies are strictly followed.
- Contribute to departmental education through in-service programs and collaborate on patient care coordination.
