The Medical Assistant will support a medium-sized outpatient clinic team by performing essential clinical and administrative duties. Reporting to the Office Manager, this role ensures efficient patient flow and accurate documentation to help deliver high-quality patient care.
13 Week Contract with the option to extend
Hours: 8 am - 5 pm
Clinic Type: Specialty
Charting: Epic - required
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Measure and record vital signs accurately
- Maintain and update medical records in compliance with regulations
- Assist with medication administration and patient instruction
- Schedule patient appointments and manage calendar coordination
- Communicate effectively with patients to address inquiries and concerns
- Provide administrative support including insurance verification
- Ensure adherence to healthcare privacy standards
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred
- Proficient in patient scheduling and medical terminology
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of medication administration and vital signs measurement
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
