Job Title: Medical Secretary II
Location: New York, NY 10003
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 2 months with a strong possibility of extension
Pay: $21/hr.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide administrative and secretarial support to attending physicians.
· Answer phones, take messages, and respond to inquiries regarding department procedures, services, and programs.
· Handle patient calls regarding appointments, physician communication, and information requests.
· Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, consultations, and procedures in department scheduling systems.
· Initiate pre-authorization requests for procedures when needed.
· Complete hospital registration for new patients and maintain accurate patient demographic information.
· Prepare patient charts and ensure all required records are complete prior to appointments.
· Obtain demographic and financial information from patients and families professionally and confidentially.
· Maintain office files, records, and other administrative documentation.
· Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism and excellent attendance.
Required Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· 3–5 years of secretarial experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
· EPIC experience required.
· Typing speed of 75 WPM.
· Proficiency in word processing and presentation software.
