GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Mixes chemicals/ingredients and operates all mixing related equipment in a way that meets all applicable procedures, safety regulations and quality compliance. Completes documentation, cleans and sanitizes equipment and rooms per SOP’s, and ensures equipment is clean and operating properly by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors processes and batch record documentation for compliance with MBR, SOPs and cGMPs during compounding operations.
- Follows and enforces safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Understands and complies with department MBRs and SOPs in accordance with cGMPs. Completes Department paperwork accurately and completely.
- Checks all raw materials delivered against the MBR ingredients list for conformance to specifications, recognizes errors and notifies lead or supervisor as required.
- Compound/blend all routine formulations and follow MBR as written.
- Cleans and operates equipment and rooms per SOPs. Performs limited preventive maintenance of department equipment.
- Assist in product failure and customer complaint investigations.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one-year related experience and/or training.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS
Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, etc.). Ability to operate power lift, pallet jack, production equipment such as mixers, scales and blenders.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certification as a lift operator preferred.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook. Good email etiquette required. Experience using Master Control and/or Manager Plus Asset Management a plus. Intermediate data entry skills are desired.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Mechanical aptitude., Ability to identify and eliminate delays to ensure continuous product flow. Ability to work well with others, follow instructions. Ability to perform and document preventive maintenance.
