About the Opportunity
Our client is a global manufacturing and industrial organization with a highly advanced supply chain and transportation network supporting worldwide operations. This role sits within a collaborative Transportation Procurement team focused on optimizing freight sourcing, automation, and carrier performance.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity with Benefits - Health, Dental & Vision (50% of premium covered for contractors) as well as PTO.
This position is located in Morton, IL and will be a 100% onsite position.
This position offers strong exposure to transportation purchasing, sourcing technology, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration while directly supporting initiatives that improve shipment execution and customer delivery performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage transactional transportation rate requests for Ocean freight.
- Submit and manage spot bid requests with transportation carriers.
- Review carrier responses and support shipment award decisions.
- Support the integration and automation of spot bids into the sourcing platform.
- Contribute to sourcing automation development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with transportation procurement, operations, IT, and external suppliers.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand shipment needs and timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and data tracking for sourcing activity.
Typical Day / Work Environment
