Job Overview:
Focused Staffing Group is seeking licensed school psychologists to conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. This position is an ideal opportunity for an experienced school psychologist who is seeking an interesting and well defined position within a small, supportive school environment. The position is offered in two formats, the first option is part-time contracted positions allowing the successful applicant to complete work both on campus and from home. This part-time position offers flexible hours and days with a contracted rate per comprehensive evaluation. Alternatively, a full-time position would be available that would include fulfilling hours as the school psychologist as well as a team chair role for special education and 504 plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, needs, and areas for growth.
- Interpret test results and data to develop individualized recommendations and interventions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Intervention and Support:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social issues.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies to support students' mental health and academic achievement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of behavior management programs and crisis intervention plans.
- Collaboration and Consultation:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and external agencies to support student learning and well-being.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 plan meetings.
- Provide consultation and training to staff and parents on topics related to child development, learning, and mental health.
- Program Development and Advocacy:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide programs that promote positive behavior, mental health, and academic success.
- Advocate for students' needs and work to remove barriers to learning and success.
- Stay current with research and best practices in school psychology, participating in professional development as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Master’s or Specialist degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist or eligibility for certification.
Experience
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting assessments, interpreting data, and developing intervention plans.
