RSA- Shipping and Receiving Clerk Hazmat High
The Rail Support Activity (RSA) Shipping and Receiving Clerk HAZMAT performs tasks under the RSA Lead / ITDSA Supervisor such as maintaining records, preparing correspondence and generating reports for appropriate agencies. Personnel will stage military equipment in the rail yard, validate load plans, submit rail car requests, verify and scan military shipping labels to generate Commercial Bills of Lading (CBL) in the Cargo Movement Operating System (CMOS). Verifies all hazmat documentation prior to movement. Attends the daily Rail Conference Call with SDDC as needed.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONDSIBLITIES:
- Verify DD Form 2890 Hazmat Declaration for accuracy.
- Assist or build Rail Load Plans from OELS or UDLs as required.
- Process DD Form 1085 and validates Rail Load Plans prior to submitting to SDDC.
- Generate Commercial Bill of Ladings (CBLs)
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Act as a Safety Officer throughout the entire operation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One (1) year of documented experience in the Transportation field.
- Must be able to obtain AMMO 62 certification.
- Knowledge of DOD Regulation 4500.9-R Department of Defense Regulation.
- Knowledge of 49 CFR Code of Federal Regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
- CAC required.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- High School/GED Diploma.
- Perform other duties as required that may involve working overtime, weekends, flexible hours and holidays.
- Perform work in conditions of inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, working in confined spaces and at heights while standing for long periods of time.
- The ability to read English language sufficiently to understand written work orders and instructions.
- Able to move throughout assigned areas, as the work is performed primarily out-of-doors, year-round on uneven ground and grave with prolonged walking or standing, frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching on a daily basis.
- Ability to climb on and under vehicles and rail cars; may only be accessible by climbing ladders to a height of 20 feet.
