Job Description

The Production Associate assembles radiators and radiator coils for copper piping systems in a clean, modern manufacturing environment. This role involves working from blueprints and work orders, using hand and power tools to cut, measure, and assemble components according to precise specifications. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a production team while meeting safety, quality, and time standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble radiators and radiator coils for copper piping systems according to blueprints and work orders.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools to cut, measure, and assemble parts to exact specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to ensure products meet required dimensions and quality standards.
  • Measure materials and assemblies using a tape measure on a daily basis to verify accuracy.
  • Apply screws and fasteners using drills and other power tools to secure metal brackets and components.
  • Operate basic manufacturing and fabrication equipment as needed to complete assigned tasks.
  • Complete assigned work within established and estimated time frames to support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure products are produced on time and to specification.
  • Communicate machine issues, quality concerns, or production challenges promptly to the lead or supervisor.
  • Participate in 5S activities, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and orderly work area.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as steel-toe footwear and ear and eye protection, as required.
  • Stand for extended periods during the shift and lift materials and components up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
  • Perform basic quality checks and visual inspections to confirm that finished products meet quality expectations.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of mechanical assembly experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience in assembly, auto mechanics, construction, or similar mechanically inclined work.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for assembly work.
  • Proficiency using a tape measure to take accurate measurements.
  • Ability to assemble products using a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Capability to stand for 8–10 hours per day in a production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as required.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate.
  • Basic computer skills for accessing work orders or production information.
  • Knowledge and proper use of personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear, ear protection, and eye protection.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing setting with fabrication and machine operation activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions; training and reference materials are available if needed.
  • Experience with metal fabrication or metal joining processes.
  • Experience with progressive stamping operations.
  • Experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • OSHA certification or safety-related training.
  • Familiarity with brazing, HVAC-related components, or metal stamping is beneficial.
  • Exposure to quality inspection practices and documentation is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment equipped with modern, up-to-date machinery and tools. The facility follows organized 5S practices to maintain a safe and efficient workspace. Employees work on the production floor, standing for most of their shift and handling materials and assemblies as part of the manufacturing process. Appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear and ear and eye protection, is required. Team members may listen to music within defined safety guidelines, which are reviewed during orientation. Use of personal phones is restricted on the production floor to maintain focus and safety. The workplace supports a unionized environment under an established industrial union, providing structure and consistency in work practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47860.00 - $47860.00/yr.
