Job Title: Test Operator (1st and 2nd shift Weekend Shift)
Job Description
The Test Operator on the 1st weekend shift performs in‑process and final testing of electrical control panels and heat exchange units in a highly automated, clean manufacturing environment. You support production by executing electrical tests, assisting with troubleshooting and repairs, documenting results, and collaborating closely with electrical assembly technicians to ensure products meet quality and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform in‑process and final testing on the electrical components of control panels in accordance with established procedures and metrics.
- Use test equipment such as multimeters, voltmeters, and ohmmeters to verify electrical performance and identify potential issues.
- Test automated In Row Heat Exchange units, following detailed training on the specific processes and equipment used.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose electrical faults based on defined performance metrics and test results.
- Work closely with electrical assembly technicians to resolve issues, suggest possible repairs, and ensure timely completion of units.
- Conduct compliance reporting using Excel, accurately documenting test results, issues found, and corrective actions taken.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, prints, and related documentation to guide testing and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist in the build and manufacture of fixtures and tooling as required to support testing processes and meet customer expectations.
- Apply knowledge of current flow, AC/DC systems, and switchgear to ensure safe and effective testing and fault diagnosis.
- Operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software to run tests, record data, and complete documentation.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions when investigating test failures or anomalies.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools, test equipment, and personal protective equipment, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members in a quiet, team‑oriented environment to meet production goals and quality standards during the weekend shift.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in electronics, electromechanical, or electrical testing in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent technical education.
- Proficient ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on control panels and related equipment.
- Hands‑on experience using test equipment such as multimeters, voltmeters, and ohmmeters.
- Capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, or prints.
- Knowledge of AC/DC systems and switchgear, including understanding of current flow.
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose electrical faults based on test metrics and data.
- Proficient use of a personal computer with a Windows-based operating system and related software.
- Ability to use Excel for compliance reporting and documentation of test results.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Solid math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work a 1st weekend shift schedule (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical, vocational, or associate degree in electronics, electromechanical technology, or a related field, which may be considered in lieu of some hands‑on experience when accompanied by strong tool usage skills.
- Experience working with pressurized systems and understanding their interaction with electrical components.
- Familiarity with HMIs (human‑machine interfaces) and electrical control systems.
- Experience assisting in the build and manufacture of fixtures and tooling for testing.
- Comfort working in a highly automated environment, particularly with heat exchange units.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with electrical assembly technicians and other team members.

Work Environment
This role is on the 1st weekend shift, working from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 2nd shift is 5:30pm-5am, fri, Sat, and Sun. You work in an extremely clean, temperature‑controlled manufacturing environment within an electrical assembly area that includes 11 cell stations and large, well‑organized workspaces. The atmosphere is very quiet and team‑oriented, fostering focus and collaboration. The department currently has around 275 employees, with plans for significant growth, offering exposure to a dynamic and expanding operation. You use modern electrical test equipment and Windows‑based computer systems as part of daily activities. The dress code requires composite‑toe or steel‑toe footwear with rubber soles, jeans or work pants, and a t‑shirt or polo. For safety reasons, large dangling jewelry, spandex, and exposed midriffs are not permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.30 - $25.30/hr.
