Job DescriptionDescriptionFrontier Psychiatry aims to improve the emotional, behavioral, and physical well-being of rural communities by delivering scalable, timely, and evidence-based interventions in psychiatry and addiction medicine. Since its launch in March 2020, Frontier Psychiatry has expanded its telehealth services across Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. Our long-term goal is to be the solution to the mental health and addiction crisis in rural America, expanding our footprint by two states per year for the next six years.
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. In this role, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care, prescribe appropriate medications, and develop comprehensive treatment plans. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. Experience in geriatric, addiction, or perinatal mental health is highly preferred.
Essential FunctionsPatient Care:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using evidence-based interventions.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments for mental and behavioral disorders.
- Provide timely and compassionate mental health care to patients.
Collaboration:
- Work with mental health professionals, family members, and primary care providers to monitor and adjust treatment plans.
- Maintain professional and clear communication with patients and colleagues.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about advancements in psychiatry, including new treatments and medications.
- Participate in continuing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Education & Certification:
- Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in [insert state].
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
Experience:
- Experience diagnosing and treating a range of mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and telehealth platforms.
Key Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop tailored treatment plans for individual patients.
