An opportunity is available for an experienced RN to provide acute in-patient behavioral health nursing care at a pediatric psychiatric facility. This contract position involves working night shifts, providing specialized care to children and adolescents in a multi-unit setting. Candidates with a minimum of two years experience and a strong background in behavioral health nursing will find this role rewarding and challenging.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid RN license with 2 or more years of experience in behavioral health nursing
- Experience in a 1:12 patient ratio setting
- Mandatory certifications: MANDT patient restraint (provided if not current), BLS, Trauma Informed Care Training, Zero Suicide Training (provided onsite)
- Missouri Childrens Division background check clearance (MoVechs process required)
- Preferred experience in pediatric psychiatric care, including familiarity with anxiety, bipolar, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, trauma-related conditions, and substance use disorders
- Proficient in medication administration (oral, IM, IV, SC, etc.) and emergency care protocols including CPR and physical hold procedures
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care within four pediatric units, supporting 812 patients per unit
- Collaborate closely with behavioral health technicians and physicians to implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and follow therapeutic protocols such as behavior management, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic medical records
- Adhere to seclusion and restraint policies, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance
Schedule:
- Night shifts, 3 per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Weekend rotation required (Sunday night, Friday night, or alternating Fridays)
