Job Description

Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week night shift contract. This Short Term Acute Care facility is looking for professionals who can work collaboratively in high-acuity environments, with a strong commitment to patient care. This opportunity is open to first-time travelers and those with at least one year of recent MICU experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the MICU.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to patients' needs and changes in condition.
  • Administer medications, manage ventilators, and provide critical care interventions.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other nursing staff.
  • Chart and document all nursing care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Float to other units as needed based on facility demand.

Key Requirements:

  • Must be flexible to float between units.
  • Comfortable working every other weekend.
  • Ability to work night shifts consistently.
  • Expected patient ratio is 1:2.
  • 1 year of recent MICU experience required.
  • First-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN).

Experience:
At least 1 year of recent MICU/ICU experience in a hospital setting.

License:

  • Active New Mexico RN license or compact license in good standing.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills.
  • Proficient in managing ventilated patients and administering critical medications.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
