A registered nurse position is available in a specialized stepdown unit focusing on neurological and stroke care. This 13-week contract role requires expertise in managing patients needing intermediate-level care, including cardiac drip monitoring and dysrhythmia management. Candidates with neuro and stroke experience are highly preferred, and this position involves working 12-hour night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on ongoing evaluation.
- Administer medications safely in accordance with state laws and facility policies.
- Coordinate patient care across interdisciplinary teams, serving as a central point of contact.
- Advocate for patient safety and quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
- Manage complex patients with multi-organ system failures and trauma.
- Utilize critical thinking to respond effectively to rapid changes in patient conditions.
- Facilitate communication and provide support to patients and families navigating critical illnesses.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact).
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; acute care experience preferred.
- Neuro/stroke-specific clinical experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (preferably EPIC) and participation in critical care training are advantageous.
- Ability to manage hemodynamic monitoring, chest tubes, transvenous pacing, and conscious sedation is encouraged.
