JOB TITLE: Forklift Driver & Back Up Delivery Driver

DEPARTMENT: Warehouse

FLSA: hourly-paid, non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

Pay Rate $20-$22

OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the safe operation of forklifts and delivery vehicles to move paper products and finished goods to and from shipping containers, truck trailers, warehouse storage areas and/or loading docks.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for the safe operation of a forklift to move paper products and finished goods to and from shipping containers, truck trailers, warehouse storage areas and/or loading docks.
2. Deliver orders to customers in a safe and timely manner, following all safety rules of the road.
3. Complete pre-operation daily inspection of forklift and/or delivery vehicle, to ensure it is safe and serviceable to drive. Document inspection on required forms. Immediately report unsafe conditions or potential problems to supervisor.
4. Report hazards, defective materials and equipment problems to management
5. Accurately complete required paperwork, including but not limited to: packing lists, Bills of Lading and inventory count sheets.
6. Exchange propane tank
7. Build delivery orders going out for next day deliveries
8. Track and monitor inventory
9. Monitor open orders, tracking inbound product, preparing for deliveries
10. Replenish shelves/racking with material
11. Maintain the forklift, delivery vehicle, work area, warehouse and equipment in a clean, orderly condition, free from hazards
12. Follow all safety rules
13. Requires the ability to sit to drive a forklift and/or delivery vehicle including backwards; and stand and walk for a minimum 8-hour shift; work overtime, swing or night shift and weekends
14. Requires the ability to constantly lift, carry, push and pull 30 pounds
15. Reliable attendance is required. At work during normal business hours

Other Duties

1. Schedule drayage for inbound loads from pier
2. Conduct month-end inventory reconciliation
3. Assist with projects including, but not limited to: general maintenance and safety
4. Cross-train to fulfill any warehouse duties
5. Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds
6. At all times behave in a courteous and professional manner
7. All duties as assigned

Reporting Relationship

1. Reports to the Operations Manager
2. Works directly with the entire team
3. Interacts with Customer Service, Operations and Shipping & Receiving

Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Experience in warehouse work
3. Experience operating a forklift
4. Basic math, reading and writing skills
5. Current drivers’ license & acceptable to insurance company

Preferred Qualifications

1. Working knowledge of either paper or packaging goods
2. Experience with inventory control and warehouse organization
3. Experience operating C-clamp
4. Forklift certification
5. Prior experience with inventory or ERP software
6. Experience driving Box Truck

Physical Environment/Working Conditions

This position is in the warehouse and on public roads, where temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year and where employees must be cautious around vehicles, equipment, and forklifts.
