This direct hire role offers engagement in a community grocery store pharmacy setting, focusing on patient care, medication dispensing, and supervising pharmacy technicians. The position supports a collaborative healthcare environment and requires availability for at least 13 weeks, with shorter assignments considered.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active New Mexico pharmacist license or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
- Comfortable supervising and directing pharmacy technician staff
- Flexible to cover shifts at a secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
Location:
- Primary retail pharmacy inside a grocery store in Tularosa, NM
- Secondary retail location nearby with occasional weekend coverage
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare, review, and dispense medication orders accurately, adhering to protocols
- Maintain accurate patient medication profiles
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities
- Participate in medical emergency responses as part of the pharmacy team
- Conduct medication storage inspections and identify outdated medications
- Orient and train new pharmacy team members
- Follow infection control protocols throughout pharmacy operations
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Closed on weekends and major holidays at primary location; some weekend shifts at secondary location may be required
