Job Summary
Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established construction and environmental services firm to help them hire an experienced Operations Manager. This senior leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in project financials, budgeting, and cost control — someone who has transitioned from the field into high-level operations and now drives performance across multiple $1M–$15M projects. The Operations Manager will serve as a strategic leader focused on financial visibility, operational structure, and people-first leadership, with minimal ramp-up required.
Key Responsibilities
-
Oversee day-to-day operations across 10–15 concurrent projects, ensuring smooth execution without duplicating PM functions
-
Lead project financial oversight: review job cost reports, control budgets, track resource usage, and resolve cost variances early
-
Track resource allocation, labor usage, and field productivity to ensure efficient operations
-
Serve as a strategic “air traffic controller” — balancing workload, crew assignments, and deadlines across all active jobs
-
Maintain field visibility to monitor safety, crew morale, schedule adherence, and regulatory compliance
-
Collaborate with Project Managers to confirm schedules, support field operations, and coordinate change orders
-
Establish systems to proactively identify operational risks and manage competing priorities
-
Promote a positive, high-accountability culture across crews and supervisors
-
Ensure proper documentation, debris disposal, and environmental compliance for asbestos, lead, and other hazardous materials
Qualifications and Must-Haves
-
5+ years in operations, general management, or executive project management within construction and/or environmental services
-
Proven experience overseeing budgets, job cost tracking, and financial performance of $1M–$15M+ projects
-
Deep understanding of project financials — cost allocation, forecasting, reporting, and resource planning
-
Prior field experience is essential — must understand how crews operate and what drives successful execution
-
Highly organized, proactive, and structured — skilled in managing shifting priorities and multiple workflows
-
Natural leader who brings energy, empathy, and accountability to teams
-
Experience with time tracking and project management software (Builder Trend, Foundation, or similar — training available)
-
Experience with hazardous material abatement, demolition, or public works projects is a plus
-
Spanish language skills and asbestos-related certifications are a plus but not required
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
