Warehouse Assistant Manager Skills:
- Lead, supervise, and assign tasks to all associates within the warehouse team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain and monitor inventory, ensuring accurate tracking of material movement across the company.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and maintain a professional phone etiquette when interacting with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed, and all safety protocols are adhered to at all times in the warehouse environment.
- Ensure that all warehouse staff follow established policies, procedures, and work instructions, maintaining a high standard of performance and safety.
- Oversee fleet tracking, ensuring proper management of truck stock and assisting with logistics planning as required.
- Maintain and nurture positive relationships with vendors, coordinating and resolving any supply or delivery issues promptly.
- Ensure that all warehouse and shipping activities are performed efficiently, with the ability to operate forklift equipment and perform cycle counting when necessary.
- Utilize previous supervisory experience to manage and guide team performance, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs. and up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Maintain the ability to operate a forklift effectively and safely.
- Stand and/or walk for an 8-hour shift, working both indoors and outdoors as necessary.
- Hold a current and valid drivers license.
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred)
- First Aid/CPR Certification (Preferred)
- 2-3 years of experience in warehouse operations, including leadership or supervisory roles
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
