Job Description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials within the facility. This role supports warehouse, production, and shipping operations while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or pallet jack as required) safely and efficiently
  • Load, unload, move, and stack materials and products
  • Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or safety issues
  • Verify and transport materials according to work orders and shipping documents
  • Maintain accurate inventory and location records
  • Support shipping, receiving, and production operations
  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous forklift operating experience required
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to become certified
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs or more
  • Stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pre-Employment Requirements

Work Environment

  • Warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution facility
  • Exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
